Dosage form: A liquid extract to be taken orally.

Prepared from the rhizome and roots of eleutherococcus – 1000 g + 40% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) in quantity sufficient to produce 1 liter extract.

Description

A liquid varying in color from light-brown to dark-brown. Transparent in shallow layer. Specific odor. Deposit may precipitate upon storage.

 Pharmacotherapeutical Group

CNS stimulating substance (a tonic) of plant origin.

Pharmacological Properties:

Stimulates central nervous system, produces tonic, hypertensive, hypoglycemic effect.

Has restorative action, improves appetite, increases physical and mental workability.

 Indications

Physical and mental fatigue, arterial hypotension, asthenic syndrome of various etiologies, arterial hypotension, convalescence after infectious diseases and postoperative period.

 Contra-indications

Individual sensitivity to the components of this product, arterial hypertension (high arterial pressure), hyperexcitability, epilepsy, convulsive conditions, sleep disorders, acute infectious diseases, chronic liver diseases. Not recommended for women during pregnancy or nursing a baby, for children under 12 years old.

 Special Notes:

Not recommended to take in the afternoon as it may cause sleep disorders.

If hypoglycemia it is recommended to reduce the dose, to use after meal or to cancel the medicine.

 Directions and Dosage

Use orally before meals. Adults take 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day. Children over 12 years old - rate of 1 drop per 1 year of life.

Course of treatment: 25-30 days. To repeat the course, ask a doctor.

 Side Effects

Allergic reactions are possible, may cause tachycardia, headache. Sleep disorders and hypoglycemia may be observed.

 Drug Interaction

Possible potentiation of stimulant and analeptical drug (caffeine, camphor, phenamine, etc.) effect. The product is a physiological antagonist of CNS depression drugs (including barbiturates, sedatives, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, etc.).

Store in a dark, cool place.
